Does RegCure Work?
Our RegCure Review:
According to their homepage, RegCure is the leading registry repair program and have served over 60 million. Not to be impressed by big numbers we made sure our RegCure review was conclusive.
We downloaded the software onto a test laptop we have running Windows Vista. This machine was about a year old and was running very slow, especially at Windows startup or when trying to switch between open programs.
The Scan
Running a RegCure scan for the first time found 405 registry errors. The scan took less than a minute to complete. We decided to scan it again a few times in a row without fixing anything, to see if the number of errors reported would change, but it stayed at 450.
Viewing the error report revealed a whole assortment of problems. There were a couple of invalid COM/ActiveX errors that can cause application failure. There were about 18 problems with shared DLLs that can cause conflicts. But most of the errors were invalid file/path references or empty registry keys.
After receiving our license key and registering RegCure we got ready to repair the errors. First, we decided to create a system restore point which is just our way of being extra safe. RegCure makes this easy by providing an option to create system restore points before fixing any errors. It is good practice to create regular backups and system restore points , even if your never use a registry cleaner.
We also used the Startup Management feature to go through the list of startup programs and disabled any we didn’t think we would need. We found and disabled 5 apps that we didn’t expect or want. A cool thing about the startup manager is you can choose to disable an entry only temporarily, so you can enable it later if you change your mind.
The Results
Results from RegCure were about as good as we could have hoped. Bootup speeds had decreased from approx 4 min 20 seconds, to around 2 min 10 seconds. The “freezing” between ALT+Tab application switching had also improved a lot. I expect that had something to do with eliminating the junk startup programs.
We found RegCure to be an effective registry cleaner that was safe and easy to use. The software is not free, but you can download RegCure and perform a scan for free. The time saved by getting rid of frustrating registry errors is worth the modest registration fee. ParetoLogic offers a full satisfaction guarantee on RegCure, which is also nice to see.
What we liked about RegCure:
- Scheduling features: So you can keep your registry free of errors without you having to remember to perform a scan. You can set it to scan daily, weekly, monthly, once, at startup, at logon, or only when idle. It even has an advanced multiple schedules feature, though I don’t have the need for that level of detail. This lets you run it once at startup, and once at 5pm for example. It took me a minute to figure out how it works, but once I did its very easy to use.
- Automatic Backups : RegCure will create a backup of any registry entries it changes before trying to repair them. There is a panel that displays a list of all the backups with a button to restore it if needed. While we can hope the backup is never needed its good to know it is there. There is also a white-list feature so you can also tell RegCure to ignore any particular problem it found and not attempt to repair it. This would probably only be used if you had to restore a backup for some reason.
- Control Windows Startup Programs: Stored inside the registry is the list of programs that automatically run at Windows startup. RegCure provides an easy way to stop unneeded or missing software from starting automatically. This can can greatly improve your startup times and keeps more memory available to your real programs.
Our RegCure Complaints:
- No 64-bit Windows version. RegCure can only be installed on 32-bit versions of Windows. If the free download installer detects that your version of Windows is 64 bit it will discontinue the installation.
- No bonus features. RegCure is just a registry cleaner. While it does a great job at that, it might make ParetoLogic look like they are slacking off. There are competing products that come bundled with extra abilities such as Internet History Erasers, System Optimizers, and Junk File Cleaners. It would be nice to see ParetoLogic hit back and offer some free stuff.
- System Restore Points are not created by default. You have to go to RegCure’s settings to enable the system restore points option. I would like to this setting enabled by default, since I’m a “safety first” kind of guy.

RegCure reviews from their customers:
"I am writing to thank you for the fantastic support that your company has given me.
I have a 1 year old Dell Latitude D620 that I use for business. Approximately 6 months after purchasing the computer it started putting up a message each time I turned it on that opened in the Windows Desktop after I logged onto it. The notice stated that there was a problem with the registry opening a program but did not state what program was causing the problem. I worked with Dell’s support group for about 6 phone conversations trying to get this problem solved. Dell finally gave up and suggested I reformat the hard drive and reinstall the operating system. I was reluctant to do this because of all the work involved in reloading all of my business programs.
I finally did a web search on Registry repair programs and found that RegCure had very high ratings. So, I purchased the program and ran it on my PC. It came up with several registry problems which the program repaired but none fixed my basic problem. I went to RegCure’s web site and wrote an email to the customer service department. They came back within one day and started working on my problem. They were not able to find the problem immediately so they escalated the problem to their expert team…..they had me do several tests and within 24 hours had pointed me in the right direction…..problem solved!
In these days of tough economic times it is companies like ParetoLogic that will get my business. Their customer support is courteous and efficient. I would highly recommend this company to anyone contemplating a purchase of their products."

"I thought I would let you know that RegCure has immediately cured my ‘email incoming connection termination’ and restored peace of mind after 48 hours of frantic hair-pulling on my part.
My wife and I own a florist’s shop so you can imagine not being able to receive emails was a major problem, but you saved the day. Thanks.
It is not often that I eulogize about a product, but RegCure is amazing. On the scan it found 983 errors on the computer and within minutes had rectified them all! My computer has gone from operating in a gentle jogging mode to a marathon with a sprint finish.
I was in the pub last night raving to my mates about RegCure (makes a change from football/soccer) encouraging them to buy RegCure. I hope for their computers’ sake they do."

"After many months of steadily declining performance my P.C. (running XP) had become so sluggish that it had become totally frustrating to use. Prior to running RegCure my screen was constantly locking up, with a "Not Responding" error notification appearing, and with no way to clear it, other than to shut down, restart, and move on to the next lockup. Clicking on "End Process or Close" simply cloned the message again leaving the screen locked. After installing and running RegCure the change was immediate and most welcome. Performance has accelerated to the point that I now feel that I need sunglasses when using the P.C. as response time is now "blindingly" fast.
While there are still a few problems to resolve, I feel that installing RegCure resolved 90 to 95% of them. I still occasionally run into a "Not Responding" message. However, I can now clear that by right clicking on the offending file name in the bottom field, left click on "Close" to close the file, bring the file back up, and get back to work. One thing that does help is to give the P.C. sufficient time to load programs before using it.
You have my permission to use this information as you wish.
For the record, Microsoft’s position on my problems, reported to them ad nauseum over many months, invariably informed me by automated notices "That while the problem was caused by Windows, a product of Microsoft, we have no fix for the problem"; the last notice suggested that I upgrade to a later level product."

"My computer was a nightmare. Navigating EBay was slow and sometimes impossible. Program windows would leave fragment on the screen. Startup was a gruelling wait with the chance of success a coin toss. I was ready to wipe out my hard drive and start all over until I tried your program. I had tried a few free reg. cleanup programs but like the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. So I took out my wallet and spent the forty bucks on your program.
It’s been an absolute success!! It’s better than when I first got the computer. I called a friend of mine who designs complicated systems for railroad train brakes and told him about my (our) success. He is an absolute skeptic but has decided to purchase your program for some computers that even he hasn’t been able to fix. Thanks again guys and keep up the great work."

Conclusion
Ask anyone who "really knows about computers" and they will tell you the biggest cause of poor performance, application errors and instability is the Windows Registry.
Basically, the Registry is a database which Windows uses all the time to store and change your PC’s hardware information, program settings, font references, Desktop preferences, and lots more.
Now, because the Registry changes so often, it tends to accumulate lots of junk entries. We’re talking leftover entries from spyware applications, badly uninstalled software, missing devices on your system, and what not.
Unless you deal with this mess on at least weekly basis, your Registry will get littered with garbage, and expand in size, which means slower PC operation, slower system start up, and frequent program crashes.
And this is exactly where RegCure steps in.
We found it to be easy to use by anyone with basic Windows knowledge of running a program. The interface is easy to use, and the automatic registry backups are great for your peace of mind. I suggest also enabling the “Create System Restore Points” option in RegCure, for added safety.
RegCure’s scan is thorough and found many different types of registry errors on our test computer. Fixing the issues was also simple, needing only a couple of mouse clicks. The result was a noticeable reduction in startup error messages and startup time.
RegCure includes the useful registry cleaning features that get the job done effectively and safely, but it does not pack any free bonuses functions like “internet history erasers”. Whether or not this is shortcoming is a matter of opinion. Some people might like that it isn’t bloated with unused fluff.
Our biggest disappointment is that RegCure is for 32-bit versions of Windows only. If you are not sure if that means you, just download and run the free scan. If you are using Windows 64-bit, then it will tell you and safely stops the installation.
What Now?
Overall, we can understand why RegCure can claim the title of the top-selling registry cleaner. We highly recommend this product.
If you want to finally fix your PC we recommend you download RegCure and scan your computer free of charge.
